Juliet Marateck: Photography Julie attended Elon University in North Carolina, where she received a BA in Communications as well as a double Minor in Photography and Gender Studies. At Elon, she created her first series, Spiritual Awakening: A North Carolina Baptist Church. Since then, she has had exhibitions in Washington DC, Monroe, LA, Greensboro, NC, and Atlanta, GA With an emphasis on humor, creativity and adventure, her work expresses a belief that every moment is a time to let your mind and feet wander. She aims to capture the seemingly ordinary person or place with a fresh and compelling perspective. Digital and darkroom experience are equally at the core of her relationship with photography. A lover of travel and documentary photography, she has traveled to England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain and Australia— with an ultimate goal of setting foot on all 7 continents. A favorite moment was when she unraveled a roll of black and white film, approached Annie Leibovitz, and asked her to autograph it at her exhibition. Her intention is to inspire you to feel connected and alive through her photography.
